According to a recent study  published by the University of South Carolina's Moore School of Business, in less than four years of operation,

the SOFC SmartState Center has:

  • attracted  over $16.5 million in new funding
  • created over 271 jobs (2008)
  • impacted the annual South Carolina gross product by $17 Million and
  • engendered over $34 million in total economic activity.

This independent report serves as a reference point that by all published accounts and measures, the SOFC Center of Economic Excellence is one of the most successful SmartState Centers in South Carolina.
